Medecins Sans Frontieres MSF is seeking a skilled and dedicated Laboratory Supervisor to lead the operations of its diagnostic laboratory at the MSF TB Clinic in Baldia, Karachi. This role is essential in ensuring high quality lab services for the diagnosis and treatment of drug sensitive and drug-resistant tuberculosis DSTB and DRTB.
The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and oversee laboratory activities in alignment with MSF protocols, biosafety standards and public health requirements. This includes supervising laboratory staff, implementing quality control measures and ensuring safe handling and processing of samples GeneXpert, smear microscopy, hematology, biochemistry.
You will coordinate specimen transportation and result tracking with PMDT and national reference labs, maintain laboratory equipment and inventory and ensure proper calibration and cold chain management. In collaboration with the MoH and MSF teams, you will ensure that laboratory diagnostics support timely and accurate patient care.
This role demands strong leadership, data management and training capabilities, as well as the ability to identify process gaps, suggest improvements and compile accurate reports weekly, monthly sitreps. You will also contribute to waste management, internal audits and cross functional teamwork to enhance diagnostic outcomes.
